RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC standout forward Dane Kelly will wear his nation’s colors this weekend.

Kelly was one of three USL players called up to the Jamaican national team for a Saturday friendly against Canada.

“This is a tremendous honor to represent my country,” Kelly, who leads the USL in goals, said on Tuesday. “Of course, I’d love to try to push (Reno 1868 FC’s) win streak to five with my teammates on Saturday.

“But I know they guys will take care of business.”

Kelly’s 16 goals this season have him in the lead for the USL’s Golden Boot as he’s helped Reno to third place in the USL’s Western Conference in the club’s inaugural season. Kelly is also the USL’s all-time leading goal scorer with 64 goals and counting.

“We’d love to have Dane with us for our match against Orange County FC,” Reno 1868 FC head coach Ian Russell. “But to represent your country is about as good as it gets and we could not be prouder of him.”

Joining Kelly will be Romario Williams from the Charleston Battery and Speedy Williams from Louisville City FC.

Reno 1868 FC takes on Orange County FC at 7 p.m. at Champions Soccer Stadium at OC Great Park.
