RENO, Nev. – Some of the top basketball players in the state will test out their soccer skills this Saturday.
The Nevada men’s basketball team will participate in Reno 1868 FC’s crossbar challenge during halftime of Saturday’s match against San Antonio FC. Players will compete to hit the top of the crossbar in an effort to score a goal from distance.
“We are thrilled to have Coach (Eric) Musselman and his players out at our match on Saturday,” Reno 1868 FC president Eric Edelstein said. “Coach and his players have been out to our matches in the past.
“But this Saturday, we will get to see what they can do on the soccer pitch.”
Reno 1868 FC and San Antonio FC, both playoff-contending teams, will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Greater Nevada Field. The first 1,868 fans through the rotunda entrance will receive a free bobblehead and Reno’s official mascot will be revealed at halftime.
