TEAM IS RIDING THREE-MATCH WIN STREAK IN USL PLAY

RENO, Nev. –Reno 1868 FC is set for an international next week, with the team facing Liga MX’s Club America’s U20’s on Friday, July 12. Last season 1868 hosted an international friendly against Monarcas Morelia, also of Liga MX, falling 4-2.

Since the club’s inception in 1916, Club America has established itself as one of the winnest teams in Liga MX history. The team owns 13 championships, with the most recent coming in 2018. The U20’s team making the trip to Reno represents the future of the club, and with it, the future of Liga MX.

The friendly will be the last chance for 1868 fans to see the team before they embark on a three-game road trip from July 17-24. The team’s next USL Championship match in Greater Nevada Field will come on July 27 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The boys in blue are coming off of three straight wins, all coming within seven days.

Los Azules are currently in second place in the USL’s Western Conference with 32 points, trailing Phoenix Rising FC by just three points. The point total is fourth best in the entire USL.

Action gets underway at 7:30 p.m. PT, and tickets are still available at reno1868fc.com or the Greater Nevada Field box office.
