Reno 1868 FC will host Club América U20’s at Greater Nevada Field on July 12, the club announced Monday.

This is the third year in a row that Reno will host a Liga MX affiliated club. In the past, Reno has hosted Atlas FC and Monarcas Morelia.

Tickets for the friendly are now on sale and can be purchased at or at the Greater Nevada Field ticket office.

“We have seen the passion for Liga MX soccer in Northern Nevada, and we are thrilled to bring a team from such a world-renowned club to Greater Nevada Field,” President Eric Edelstein said Monday. “We want this match to inspire our youth to strive for more in the hopes that they will one day take the field as a professional player.

Club América U20’s is a part of the academy of Liga MX team, Club América. América is one of the most decorated teams in Mexico and plays at Estadio Azteca, the largest stadium in Mexico and Latin America.

América has won a record thirteen league titles and six Copa México titles, in addition to seven CONCACAF Champions Cup/Champions League titles, two Copa Interamericana cups and one CONCACAF Giants Cup.

Reno 1868 FC travels to Sacramento this weekend for Saturday’s Donner Pass Derby rivalry match against Sacramento Republic FC.
